A story of family and roots
Founded in Hérouxville in 1980 by Guy-Paul Mongrain, the company reached an important milestone when it moved to Lac-à-la-Tortue in 2003. Today, Aéro Atelier remains a family-owned company specializing in aircraft engine repair and overhaul and is approved by Transport Canada. At the time of the original report, the company also held a separate EASA approval; that separate approval is no longer its current status.
The next generation is already well established, as Manuel Mongrain continues this tradition of expertise while preparing the company for the future.
Expertise at their fingertips
At Aéro Atelier, the focus is on Lycoming and Continental. This specialization allows the team to develop deep knowledge of these engines. Work in the shop is a precise choreography in which every specialist plays an important role:
- Assembly and overhaul: specialists work every day to bring engines back to service with rigorous attention to detail.
- Accessory work: experts such as Guy Massicotte focus specifically on magnetos, helping provide reliable ignition at every start.
- International talent: the team has also welcomed expertise from abroad, including David Monnard, who came from Switzerland to build his career in Quebec.
