For an aircraft owner or operator, time on the ground matters. Aéro Atelier’s engine exchange program is designed to reduce downtime on eligible engine models by allowing an exchange engine to be prepared before your existing engine is returned.

How does the program work?

Rather than waiting for the complete overhaul of your own engine, an exchange may be available for certain models and configurations, subject to core and parts availability.

  • Advance preparation: when an eligible core is available, we can prepare an engine in advance using the same shop processes applied to our overhaul work.
  • Shipment when ready: once the exchange engine is complete, it can be shipped for installation on your aircraft.
  • Core return: after the replacement, your previous engine (core) is returned to Aéro Atelier according to the conditions of the exchange agreement.

The Aéro Atelier approach

  • Plan ahead: early planning gives us the best opportunity to confirm whether a suitable core and configuration can be available for your project.
  • Experience since 1980: exchange engines benefit from Aéro Atelier’s long-standing experience with Lycoming and Continental piston engines.
  • Documentation: the engine is supplied with the applicable maintenance-release and airworthiness documentation for the work performed.

Strategic planning matters

Early planning is strongly recommended because core, component and configuration availability can change. Contact our team to discuss your engine model, timeline and the exchange options currently available.
